PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit which is low-cost and good in productivity, and superior in durability, and can be optically positioned with high precision. PSOLUTION: The light source unit 11 is constituted by joining an end surface 134 of a V-shaped block 130 holding a collimator lens 13 and an extension portion 121 of an LD holder 120 holding a laser diode 12 to each other with a columnar member 131 interposed therebetween. The columnar member 131 is the one obtained by curing a photocurable resin, wherein the photocurable resin is cured by irradiation with light for curing, after the laser diode 12 and collimator lens 13 are optically aligned in a state where the photocurable resin is not cured in an assembling stage of the optical unit 11.
