PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a indium based fin particle used for forming a transparent conductive coating film having excellent antistatic effect, reflection preventing property, electromagnetic shielding property and the like and also having excellent strength of a coating film and transparency. PSOLUTION: The indium based particle has a peak (PA) in plane index (2,2,2) belonging to indium oxide, a peak (PBSB1/SB) in plane index (2,0,0) and a peak (PBSB2/SB) in plane index (2,2,0) belonging to indium hydroxide and the ratio (HPBSB2/SB)/(HPA) of the peak height (HPBSB2/SB) of the peak (PBSB2/SB) to the peak height (HPA) of the peak (PA) is 1/2. The manufacturing method of the indium based oxide fine particle comprises the steps of: (a) preparing an organic solvent dispersion of indium hydroxide and (b) heating the organic solvent dispersion to 120-400C, or (a') preparing an organic solvent dispersion of indium based hydroxide and an indium based oxide seed particles and (b).
