PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-oriented silicon steel sheet free from surface defects such as pickup and low in core loss without increasing production cost by maximumly utilizing the productivity of a vertical continuous annealing furnace even in a steel contg. V. ;SOLUTION: The method for producing a non-oriented silicon steel sheet excellent in surface properties and core loss characteristics comprises: a steel contg., by weight, 0.005% C, 0.8% Si, 0.1 to 1.0% Mn, 0.001 to 0.05% Al, 0.02% (including zero) S, 0.2% P, 0.005% (including zero) N, either or both of Sb and Sn by 0.002 to 0.02% expressed in terms of Sn+Sn/2 and 0.002 to 0.02% V, furthermore contg. B in the range of B/N (weight ratio)=0.5 to 2.0, and the balance substantial Fe is subjected to hot rolling, is thereafter pickled, is next subjected to cold rolling and is subsequently annealed in a vertical continuous annealing furnace.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
