PURPOSE:To develop a non-oriented electrical steel sheet having excellent magnetic characteristics by annealing a silicon steel sheet worked to the final thickness by cold rolling at the specific max. temp. according to the content of Si in the steel sheet and controlling the unit tension during the annealing to the specific value associated to the above-mentioned temp. at the time of the final annealing of the above-mentioned silicon steel steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:0.05-0.15wt.% elongation deformation is imparted to the steel sheet by controlling of the unit tension sigma(kgf/mm2) during the annealing at the time of working the silicon steel steel sheet contg. 1.0-4.0wt.% Si to the thin sheet of the final thickness by one pass or =2 passes of the cold rolling including intermediate annealing and subjecting such sheet to the final annealing. The steel sheet is annealed at the max. heating temp. T deg.C satisfying the equation in the case of 1.0wt.%=Si=1.5wt.%, equation II in the case of 1.5 wt.%=Si=2.0wt.% and equation III in the case of 2.0wt.%=Si=4.0wt.% according to the content of the Si in the silicon steel steel sheet, by which the electrical steel sheet having the excellent magnetic characteristics is obtd.
