PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound with high solubility, high noncrystallinity and suitable charge mobility, and an organic electroluminescent element using it.;SOLUTION: This polymer compound has repeating units represented by general formula (I) and general formula (II) (wherein Ar¹, Ar², Ar⁶ and Ar⁷ are each independently an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may have a substituent or an aromatic heterocyclic group which may have a substituent, Ar³ and Ar⁸ are each independently a p-phenylene group, a m-phenylene group or a 4,4'-biphenylene group either of which may have a substituent) and has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000-1,000,000.
