ESG DISCOVERY APPARATUS AND METHOD IN CBMS

A method and a device for discovering an ESG(Electronic Service Guide) in a CBMS(Convergence Of Broadcasting and Mobile Service) system are provided to quickly and easily obtain the ESG for searching IPDC(IP(Internet Protocol) data caster) operator information. An available IP(Internet Protocol) platform is selected by obtaining PSI(Program Specific Information)/SI(Service Information)(1210). An ESG bootstrap received from the selected IP platform is detected(1215). All available ESGs are detected from an ESG discovery provider descriptor and an ESG access descriptor, which are included in the ESG bootstrap(1225). An IPDC operator for the detected ESG is checked. When a terminal supports an available KMS(Key Management System) included in the ESG and supports the available IPDC operator, one IPDC operator is selected(1240). One ESG having the selected IPDC operator is selected and accessed, and a service is accessed or bought(1250).
