Press unit of a machine for production and/or handling of a fiber material strip, especially a paper- or cardboard run with at least one central roll (14,16), including a compact press (12) with several PressNips (22-26), thru which the paper or cardboard runs pass thru. In the run moving direction the first PressNip is lengthened in the run moving direction, and is formed between central roll (14) of press (12) and the shoe press unit (18) of press (12). An independent claim is included for machine for production and/or handling of a fiber material strip, especially a paper- or cardboard run.
