The method involves simultaneously increasing a volume of a pump chamber (16) and reducing a volume of another pump chamber (18) by forward movement (F) of a partition wall (14), where the wall separates the chambers. Fluid lines (24, 26) are suspended between an inlet reservoir (20) and the chamber (16) and between the chamber (18) and an outlet reservoir (22), respectively. Fluid lines (28, 30) are produced between the inlet reservoir and the chamber (18) and between the chamber (16) and the outlet reservoir, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a positive displacement pump comprising a fluid chamber.
