The armrest has a joint device with a spherical joint head (30) and with a pivot joint housing (20) rotatably supported on the spherical area of the head. A turning position of the joint housing is rested with respect to the head in a predefined angle range. An adjusting device (40) has an adjusting part moved from the joint housing to the head and brought in engagement with the head for spatially fixing the joint housing opposite to the head. An actuating device (50) actuates an adjusting part for releasing and for fixing the turning position of the joint housing opposite to the head.
