The method involves effecting an authentication (13) of a key (9) between a start module (5) of a vehicle and a transponder (10) arranged in the key during an initial start and during each restart of the vehicle. The authentication of a key is affected for release of an immobilizer system (6) by a wireless communication device (7,8). The authentication is valid only for a short time, where a deactivation of a function of a start-stop device (2) of the vehicle is carried out. An independent claim is included for a device for controlling a keyless-go-system.
