The method involves utilizing a vehicle tracking system together with a keyless entry system to authenticate and/or locate a driver recognition device (15) i.e. driver card. Antennas (11, 12) of the keyless entry system are used to authenticate and/or locate the driver recognition device. A request with respect to the device is sent to the keyless entry system by the tracking system. The request is responded by the device, and a response is received and evaluated by the tracking system. An authentication signal is delivered by the device based on the request. An independent claim is also included for a motor car.
