The controller (100) has an activatable/deactivatable main power supply (104) for supplying operating energy to a set of controller components (101-103). A control element e.g. capacitive scanner (105), is activated by a user for activating and/or deactivating the controller. A control element circuit (106) is attached to the control element and is coupled with the supply. The circuit determines an actuation condition of the control element, and activates or deactivates the supply depending on the condition. An auxiliary main power supply (107) supplies operating energy to the circuit.
