The method involves tangentially guiding a transfer foil (5) of a pressing device of a coating module (2) such that the transfer foil is guided with a printed sheet through a transfer gap (6) under pressure. Coating or parts of the coating of the transfer foil is provided at the printed sheet after the discharge of the printed sheet from the transfer gap.
