Active substance combinations, comprising: a) one or several substances selected from the group of monoglycerin-monoalkylethers, diglycerin-monoalkylethers, triglycerin-monoalkylethes, monoglycerin-dialkylethers, diglycerin-dialkyletherd and triglycerin-dialkylethers; b) one or several dialkyl-substituted acetic acids of formula (I) or the salts thereof, wherein R1 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 - 12 carbon atoms and R2 is a branched or non-branched alkyl radical with 1 - 24 carbon atoms . The active substance combination is used advantageously in cosmetic and dermatological preparations. The inventive active substance combinations are especially characterised by skin compatibility and effectiveness against microorganisms.
