The device has a post-injection duct (8) formed by a bore in a cylinder head (4) of a combustion engine. The duct assures communication between an inner volume of a fuel injector (1) and an exhaust duct (6), where the injector injects fuel into a combustion chamber (3). An orifice of the post-injection duct is opened in the exhaust duct in downstream of an exhaust valve (7) and in upstream of a particle filter with respect to a flow direction of gas in the exhaust duct. The post-injection duct is associated to an obturator i.e. valve (9a), which controls passage of fuel in the duct (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for regenerating a particle filter in an engine.
