The system has determination units for determining an optimal operating point of a hybrid drive train to dynamically determine operation of the drive train along an electric mode or hybrid mode and fed at an input by a parameter representing volition of a driver. The determination units are constituted by a driving agreement constraint considering unit (11), an acceptable operating point determination unit (12) and an operating point optimization unit (13). The units include prevention units preventing passing from the hybrid mode to the electric mode with respect to the parameter. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a hybrid drive train of a motor vehicle.
