The method involves bending a deformable rigid rod formed by a blank (26), along a same bending radius (r1) and measuring deformations of optical sensors comprising optical fibers (29, 30, 31), during flexion. Sinusoidal functions of the deformations of the sensors are extrapolated from the measured deformations, based on orientation of a flexion plane around a central axis (C). Error correcting coefficients are calculated based on angular offset between the extrapolated sinusoidal functions and based on amplitudes of extrapolated sinusoidal curves.
