METHOD OF SETTING UP AND MANAGING INSPECTION DEVICE IN MACHINE FOR MANUFACTURING TOBACCO PRODUCT

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of setting up and managing an inspection device in a machine for manufacturing tobacco products. PSOLUTION: The machine manufacturing filter cigarettes comprises the inspection device set up and managed by a method that includes the steps of: loading a self-learning unit with data relative to predetermined parameters characteristic of the particular filter cigarette in production; loading the self-learning unit with data to be reference images of the filter cigarettes; processing the data loaded into the self-learning unit in order to determine parameters (P2) relating to the physical properties of the filter cigarettes in production; and storing these parameters in a table, and using an analysis and comparison unit to process images of the manufactured filter cigarettes, received during production by this same unit from an optical unit, on the basis of the stored parameters.
