PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for accurately measuring water vapor permeability for eliminating bad influence of a foreign substance adhered to a test piece surface.;SOLUTION: The device for measuring water vapor permeability a test piece by a calcium corrosion method comprises a lighting means for emitting illumination light at a predetermined angle from one side obliquely upward part of the test piece surface side, a photographing means for photographing reflected light from the test piece in the other side obliquely upward part of the test piece surface, a corrosion region candidate extracting means for extracting a corrosion region candidate from the image acquired by the photographing means, and a surface foreign-substance determining means for determining the foreign substance on the test piece surface based on the extracted corrosion region candidate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
