PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat open showcase suitable for 24-hour continuous operation, which can keep the freshness of a fresh food such as sliced raw fish by supplying cold air even in defrosting operation, and avoid frost formation to an evaporator in general operation as much as possible to extend the defrosting operation interval.;SOLUTION: A cold air circulating passage 6 is provided on the front side, lower side and rear side of a commodity storage chamber 5 having an opened upper surface. A main evaporator 12 and a blowing fan 14 are arranged within the circulating passage 6. An auxiliary evaporator 15 cooling defrosting hot air discharged from the main evaporator 12 is arranged between an outlet port 9 of the circulating passage 6 and the main evaporator 12. The circulating cold air is cooled by the main evaporator 12 which is reduced in frost formation, compared with a conventional main evaporator. In the main evaporator 12, the sectional area and effective number of refrigerant pipes 31 are set large, compared with those in the conventional one. A cold air chamber 7 bypassing the cold air circulating passage on the commodity storage chamber 5 side is formed under the commodity storage chamber 5 to cool the commodity storage chamber 5 with the cold air passing through the cold air chamber 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
