PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust pipe for internal combustion engine capable of preventing color change and oxidation due to high temperature exhaust gas.;SOLUTION: The exhaust pipe for an internal combustion engine includes a metal tube 5 enclosing a passage 6 through which an exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine passes, and a ceramic film 10 covering the metal tube from the outside, the ceramic film 10 contains no more than about 0.5 mass% of a metallic element which is dominantly present in a surface of the metal tube 5.
