PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for recovering copper oxide having little chlorine content, with which strong acidic waste solution containing a copper ion and a chloride ion of high concentration, such as copper chloride-containing etching waste solution which has been treated as an industrial waste material until now, is efficiently treated with a low sludge production amount, and reused as a copper-ion supplying source into a copper-plating solution. PSOLUTION: The method for recovering a copper-containing solid matter in which the chlorine content from the copper-containing acidic waste solution is reduced, includes: adding mixed liquid of the copper-containing an acidic waste solution and an oxidizing agent into an alkaline-agent solution, while keeping the following conditions (1) and (2) or (3); and obtaining the generated solid matter. The pH in the alkaline agent solution after adding the mixed liquid is not made to be 7 even temporarily; (1). The temperature of the alkali-agent solution after adding the mixed liquid is made to be 55C; (2). The pH of the alkaline-agent solution after adding the mixed liquid is kept to be 11.5; (3).
