The present invention relates to: a method for treating a copper-containing acidic liquid waste, whereby it becomes possible to remove and collect copper in the form of copper oxide from the copper-containing acidic liquid waste; and an apparatus for achieving the method. The method for treating a copper-containing acidic liquid waste comprises: mixing the copper-containing acidic liquid waste with an oxidizing agent to prepare a mixed solution; then adding the mixed solution to an alkaline agent while managing in such a manner that the pH value of an alkaline agent solution prepared by the injection of the mixed solution never decreases to 7 or lower even temporarily, thereby producing a solid matter that contains copper oxide as the main component; and then collecting the solid matter. In the method, the alkaline agent is diluted in advance so as to adjust the concentration thereof and then the mixed solution is added to the alkaline agent or, alternatively, the alkaline agent is diluted in advance so as to adjust the concentration thereof, then the diluted alkaline agent is warmed and then the mixed solution is added to the alkaline agent.
