PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which has sufficient optical characteristics by itself, high productivity and cost-effectiveness. PSOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the optical component, an etch-resistant layer is formed on a base and is irradiated with a laser beam to form an opening in the etch-resistant layer by ablation generated in a part irradiated with the laser beam, and the base is etched through the opening formed on the etch-resistant layer to for a recessed portion on the base, and the etch-resistant layer is removed to produce a mold having the recessed portion, and the shape of the mold is transferred to an optical material, whereby the optical component having a protrusion portion is manufactured.
