PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a pressure of a channel to be constant, restrict an increase of a liquid temperature to a minimum and obtain a sufficient liquid replenishment rate and a high flow velocity by setting a liquid flow chamber between a first substrate and a second substrate, and constituting part of a liquid flow to flow in an equal direction to a length of an array of acoustic waves. ;SOLUTION: A liquid drop generator 40 has a base substrate 42, with transducers 46 set to one surface and acoustic lenses 44 set to the other surface. What is separated from the base substrate 42 is a liquid level control plate 56. The base substrate 42 and liquid level control plate 56 limit a channel for holding a flowing liquid 52. The liquid level control plate 56 includes an array 54 of openings 60. The transducers 46, acoustic lenses 44 and openings 60 are all aligned in an axis direction. Acoustic waves generated by the transducers 46 are nearly converged by the acoustic lenses 44 to free surfaces 58 of the liquid 52 in the openings 60.
