PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved groove for separating the sample of molecules and particles by electric field flow fractionation(FFF). ;SOLUTION: An electrode in a groove is made of a flat glass plate being covered with a metal oxide, thus achieving the seven most desirable characteristics of the channel for electric FFF. More specifically, the characteristics include hardness, flatness, smoothness, chemical inactivity, durability (particles are not generated.) high conductivity, and transparency.
