Camera control method and camera system and microscope system using the same

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the control method of a camera capable of attaining proper exposure in a short time when the optical path of a microscope is switched, and to provide a microscope system employing it. PSOLUTION: The camera system comprises a microscope having a plurality of observation ports and an optical path switching means of the plurality of observation ports at least one of which is arranged with a camera, an optical path switching state detecting means for detecting the switching state of light incident or not incident on an observation port arranged with a camera, and a means for performing AE control when light is incident on the camera. When switched from a state where light is incident on the camera to a state where light is not incident on the camera, the AE control means holds AE control conditions under the state where light is incident on the camera. When switched from a state where light is not incident on the camera to a state where light is incident on the camera, the AE control means begins AE control based on AE control conditions thus held.
