PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of applying a release agent to improve releasing properties so as to avoid adhesion of the inner or outer surface of a molded green tire to the bladder or the mold during vulcanization molding and a device for the method.;SOLUTION: In a device 10 for applying a release agent, an arm 13 held by a support 11 through a lifting cylinder 12 is attached through an oscillating cylinder 14 in a revolvable way. A spray gun 15 is mounted on the tip of the arm 13, and the gun 15 is attached so as to be rotatable around the rotating shaft 17 driven by a rotary drive motor 16 arranged on the arm 13. The shaft 17 of the gun 15 is connected with two or more long hoses 19 for supplying a release agent.
