The present invention describes the tripeptide MAP and/or the tripeptide ITP and/or a salt thereof, protein hydrolysates containing said tripeptides and salts thereof usable for blood pressure lowering. The invention also discloses a method for producing said tripeptides and salts thereof which comprises the enzymatic hydrolysis of a protein and optionally converting MAP and/or ITP into its salts.
