Abstract "Process for preparing nutritious, odorless pupae powder for different potential application" This invention relates to a novel Bombyx mori nutritious odorless pupae powder containing, quantitatively significantly higher amount of protein in female as compared to male in both hybrids PMx CSR2 and CSR2x CSR4 where former containing 14.81% soluble protein and later 14.58% soluble protein as compared to total protein of 60.8% and 63.66% respectively. Two polypeptides identified in the range at 43 KD and 14.3 KD in the defatted pupae powder of CSR2x CSR4 and PMx CSR2. Five major amino acids in pupae powder of PMx CSR2 Norleucin, methionine, glutamic acid, Hydroxyl proline aspartic acid and in the pupae powder of CSR2x CSR4 are Isoleucine, valine, Aminobutyric acid, hydroxyl proline and Leucine and the process of preparation thereof comprising Collection of wet pupae at correct age, after spinning 4th -8th day, most th preferably 6 day wherein fresh pupae can directly be used for processing and pupae from reeling unit, purchasing and stifling of cocoons are preferably from 4th -8th day, most preferably 6th day. Cleaning of pupae is done by washing with clean water. Drying is done for cleaned defatted pupae in hot air oven at 30-80°C, preferably 50-70°C for 24-144 hr, preferably 48-72 hr Coarse pulverizing is done with dried pupae mechanically, deoiling and deoderzing is done by treating defatted pupae with organic solvent mixture by hot percolation or soxhlet extraction process for 3-12 h preferably 4-5hr. drying of extracted coarse pulverized pupae by air to remove organic solvent. Fine pulverizing wherein ultimately dry pupae are powdered 20-60 mesh sized preferably 30-40 mesh sized in pulverizing machine. Pupae power is packed in sterilized, airtighted sealed poly pack. Further amino acid is obtained by acid hydrolysis of pupae powder, neutralization, filtration and drying.
