Abstract "Process for preparing transparent odorless Refined Silkworm pupae oil for possible different potential Application" This invention relates to a process for preparing transparent odorless refined silkworm pupae oil comprising, Selection of correct pupae age, wherein pupae is stifled at 7-8th day of pupation. Cleaning and drying of pupae wherein fresh pupae are cleaned, then stifled to kill at 35C-80°C, preferably below 70°C for 24-96 hr and the pupae collected after reeling are thoroughly washed, cleaned, dried at 35-80°C, preferably below 70°C for 18-40 hr. Pulverization is done by crushing of fully dried and hard pupae by hand or coarsely pulverizing. Extracting oil by Soxhlet extraction process using solvent like petroleum ether, chloroform, methanol or in mixture. Evaporation of solvent wherein 38-40% extracted oil is obtained. Crude oil fractions separation by column chromatography wherein three fractions viz Neutral lipid, glycolipid and phospholipids are obtained, Refining crude oil by degumming. Neutralization, decolourization and deoderization are done to produce resultant transparent, odorless and refined pupae oil.
