Disclosed is a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutical acceptable salt, solvate, hydrate, or N-oxide thereof, wherein the substituents are as defined in the specification. Also disclosed, is the use of the compound in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of metabolic diseases, including: type I diabetes; type II diabetes; inadequate glucose tolerance; insulin resistance; hyperglycemia; hyperlipidemia; hypertriglyceridemia; hypercholesterolemia; dyslipidemia; and syndrome X.
