METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE ENDLESS CONNECTION OF HANDRAILS FOR TRAFFIC STAIRS AND LIFTS

The method for the endless connection of handrails (1) for escalators and moving pavements has the ends of the handrail to be connected separable over their width by a section in the proximity of an embedded reinforcing layer (3) for the forming of opposite lying housings in the longitudinal direction. In these housings is fitted an insert overlapping in parallel the connecting region and in the form of a flat element made of a material with high strength fibers located in the longitudinal direction and similar to the reinforcing layer. An independent claim is included for a device for the carrying out of the proposed method.
