A method for estimating the pneumatic pressure of a tire on a wheel of a vehicle, comprising: receiving as an input a first sensor signal status of the vehicle (1) from a sensor of said vehicle, representing said signal a state sensor dependent vehicle pneumatic pressure said tire; calculate a value dependent (7) of tire pressure by means of an adaptive filter (4) which is based on a first predetermined state dependent vehicle tire pressure model; calculating an estimate (5) of first parameter values of said dependent signal said first vehicle status and the offset of said sensor signal sensor adaptive filter; characterized by the steps of: calculating an indication value (10) tire pressure dependent of said first parameter values (5) of the dependent model of tire pressure and a second default model dependent tire pressure (8) state of the vehicle.
