There is disclosed an apparatus for grasping a cable connector. In anembodiment, theapparatus has a generally elongate body; an anvil face positioned at a firstend of thegenerally elongate body; a cable connector grasping tip positioned at thefirst end of thegenerally elongate body, the cable connector grasping tip adapted to bepositionable intoan extended position and a retracted position relative to the anvil face;biasing meansadapted to urge the cable connector grasping tip into the retracted position;and a padpositioned at a second end of the generally elongate body, the pad adapted tobedepressible against the biasing means to urge the cable connector grasping tipinto theextended position.
