摘要

Based on the finding that no or very little selenium is detected in animal planktons which are cultured by the existing method, it is noticed that there is a possibility that marine larval fish at the stage of taking these biological feeds would suffer from selenium deficiency. Selenium-containing animal planktons can be successfully produced by developing a method of producing selenium-containing animal planktons, preliminarily incorporating selenium into unicellular microalgae, and culturing animal planktons with the use of the unicellular microalgae as a feed. Thus, the survival rate and vitality of larval fish having been deficient in selenium can be remarkably elevated.
