The device (10) has a housing arranged under a water reservoir (14) to receive a feeding bottle (16), where the reservoir is provided with a thin resistive film to heat water. A closing mechanism closes a circular opening in the reservoir, and has a return spring placed at periphery of a hollow cylindrical piece. The spring forces an O-ring against a lower surface of the opening to tightly close the opening. A lever i.e. arm (52), is articulated on a body or frame (11) of the device. The arm moves the piece to release the opening and compress the spring, when the arm is actuated.
