PURPOSE: A probe, kit and method for diagnosing Rifampin resistance are provided to quickly diagnose Rifampin resistance of Mycobacterium leprae and effectively treat leprosy patient. CONSTITUTION: A DNA probe for diagnosing Rifampin resistance of Mycobacterium leprae contains one sequence among the sequence number 5 to 16. The probe specifically binds with rpoB gene which relates to the Rifampin resistance of Mycobacterium leprae. A kit for diagnosing Rifampin resistance contains a primer amplifying the Mycobacterium leprae and DNA probe. A method for diagnosing Rifampin resistance comprises: a step of conjugating DNA probe on a solid support; a step of hybridizing PCR product of the amplified Mycobacterium leprae with DNA probe; and a step of detecting the hybridized product.
