PURPOSE: An image forming device, a united interface device, and a method for using option unit are provided to be integrally used without type of option unit. CONSTITUTION: Many switches(130) is installed on a power transmission path between an option unit and a power unit which is connected to united interface unit. A control unit(140) checks the type of option unit by using information about type of the option unit and predetermined ID information. The control unit controls on/off of the plurality of switches to transfer the size of power corresponding to the checked type to the option unit. The ID information comprises power size information which is allowed according to the type.
