The valve (100) has a slider (130) movable relative to a sleeve (120) by actuation of the valve, where the sleeve is partially formed from piezo-electric material. The sleeve is brought into two different shapes by applying electric voltage to the sleeve, where the valve exhibits two switch positions. The different shapes produce different tight-connections between the slider and the sleeve in one of the switch positions. The slider is movable within a valve body (110), which is partially formed from the piezo-electric material. An independent claim is also included for a method for actuating a valve.
