The container sterilizing device has a transport unit (6) for transporting containers (10) along the given transportation paths (P1,P2,P3) and a treatment room (8), in which the containers are sterilized. The interior gas pressure of the treatment room lies under the exterior gas pressure of the treatment room. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a sterilization unit for sterilizing containers; and (2) a method for sterilizing containers.
