The method involves providing a copper based conductor. A sheath with PTFE based material charged with lubricant is formed around the conductor, where the conductor is provided without external coating. An electric wire (2) is heated in order to evaporate the lubricant and to carry out a sintering process of a PTFE based sheath, where heating of the wire is performed in low oxygen content atmosphere when temperature exceeds 100 degree Celsius. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an electric wire comprising a copper alloy conductor (2) a line for lubricant evaporation and/or sintering for an electric wire.
