PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display substrate capable of easily suppressing generation of a light leakage current and to provide a reflection type liquid crystal display device.;SOLUTION: Pixel electrodes P each having a nearly square shape are disposed in a matrix shape on the uppermost layer of an element substrate. Guard rings GR are formed in gaps between adjacent pixel electrodes P in a grid shape so as to enclose an outer periphery of each pixel electrode P. Gap parts 70 formed by the pixel electrodes P and the guard rings GR are narrowly formed.
