INTEGRATED HALF COIL STRUCTURE FOR SUPPORTING WRITE ONTO HIGH COERCIVITY MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated half coil structure for supporting write onto a high coercivity medium.;SOLUTION: Disclosed is a structure for supplying two components for supporting write for vertical thin film heads to write onto the high coercivity medium. The two components include a component for supporting the write onto the medium and a component for supporting the switching of a head. The structure includes an auxiliary half coil surrounding a magnetic pole end in an ABS and conductors which are connected to the auxiliary half coil and run parallel to a magnetic pole layer. An integrated heat sink disposed in the ABS or a position set back far from the ABS is provided. The conductors are provided with a symmetrical or asymmetrical feed shape which allows a differential or common mode current flow to the half coil.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
