PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high color-rendering metal halide lamp with ample light flux which can vividly reproduce waterweed in a water tank, and that, can effectively present lighted objects other than the waterweed. SOLUTION: Inside a luminous tube equipped with electrodes at both ends, rare gas for start-up, mercury, and two kinds of iodide mixed crystal bodies are enclosed, and color temperature is set at 7,000 K to 8,000 K, deviation (DUV) from black body radiation (BBL) at +0.015 to +0.020, and average color rendering index (Ra) at not less than 90.
