PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication apparatus for alleviating a processing load by simplifying a configuration for antenna switching in the case of applying diversity reception to a satellite signal, and to provide a wireless communication control method of the wireless communication apparatus. PSOLUTION: The wireless communication apparatus includes: a plurality of antennas 2A, 2B; a wireless signal reception circuit 6A or 6B for a wireless signal and connectable to one of the antennas; a satellite signal reception circuit 7 connectable to the other antenna and applying reception processing to a satellite signal from a satellite; and a signal processing means (one functional part of a control/processing circuit 8) for receiving the wireless signal subjected to the reception processing in the wireless signal reception circuit 6a, 6B, and carrying out signal processing in response to the received signal; and furthermore a satellite signal processing means (the other functional part of the control/processing circuit 8) for receiving the satellite signal subjected to the reception processing by the satellite signal reception circuit 7 and carrying out signal processing in response to the received signal; and an antenna connection switching means 4 for switching connection between the satellite signal reception circuit 7 and the antennas 2A, 2B depending on the number of satellites acquired by at least one of the antennas.
