PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody heat insulating material which does not use waste paper as a raw material and is excellent in moisture absorbing/releasing properties.;SOLUTION: The heat insulating material 13 is made of a woody material mainly comprising wood fibers obtained by fibrillating and classifying the bark. The wood fibers have an average fiber length of about 9.6 mm, and about 90% of the fibers have an external fiber diameter of ≤1.00 mm.
