PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately diagnose an abnormal state of a monitoring object by non-linearly convert a time coordinate of a wavelet spectrum data, which is found from an unsteady signal by an inverse function of a state quantity change function expressing the time change in the specific state quantity of the monitoring object, into a specific state quantity coordinate. ;SOLUTION: Unsteady signal data x(t) obtained by a response data measurement means 1 is sent to a wavelet conversion calculating means 2 so as to perform a wavelet conversion, the calculated wavelet spectrum data Wt(a, b) is sent to a time coordinate non-linear conversion means 3, and the time coordinate of the wavelet spectrum data wt(a, b) is converted into the non-linear coordinate in relation to the specific state quantity of a monitoring object. Secondly, the expanded wavelet spectrum wt(a, z) found by a time coordinate non-linear conversion means 3 is sent to a display means 7 so that a two-dimensional function wt (ω, z) for a frequency coordinate ω=a-1 and the state quantity coordinates z is displayed as the expanded wavelet spectrum data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
