摘要

The process of making nano-sized calcium hydroxy apatite powder and its composite with P-Ca3 (PO4)2 (3-TCP) and other calcium phosphates through modified solution combustion synthesis using pure or mixed fuels has been disclosed. The phase pure nano-sized calcium hydroxy apatite and the composites comprised of a mixture of calcium hydroxy apatite, ß-tri-calcium phosphate and other phosphates. In accordance with this invention the resultant product obtained by modified solution combustion synthesis is fluffy foam like mass composed of isometric spherical particles of 20-150 nm size. The nano-sized calcium hydroxy apatite powder and its composite material can also be processed to yield a porous bioactive scaffold and bone filler materials.
