A method and an installation for alternating storage of COSUB2 /SUBand natural gas in a way that ensures minimal mixture of the gases, is described. COSUB2 /SUBand natural gas are alternately stored in a tank installation comprising a plurality of tanks connected in series, where COSUB2 /SUBis always filled and emptied through a first tank in the series of tanks, and where natural gas always is filled and emptied through a last tank in the series of tanks.
